About Me - Masthead

Hi - my name is Bryson Lee, and I’m a technical artist with a focus on visual development, world building, environments, gameplay systems, graphics, and shaders. I graduated from Santa Clara University in 2018 with a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering and a concentration in multimedia computing.

I am currently a Senior Technical Artist at Blizzard Entertainment working on an unannounced game, where I emphasize in dynamic world systems and large-scale procedural environments.

Prior to joining my current team, I worked in the Blizzard Animation group, where I developed new workflows to realize the cinematic vision of Blizzard’s IPs. Notable projects include the in-game cinematics for Diablo 4 and World of Warcraft. My work focused on asset creation pipelines, environment tools, bespoke materials, cinematic look development, rigging automation, and publishing frameworks.

I have a background in Computer Graphics systems for 3D animation and visual effects. Before rejoining Blizzard in 2022, I worked as a Software Engineer at Pixar Animation Studios, Industrial Light and Magic, and Disney Interactive. My responsibilities included asset systems, advanced assets, distributed pipelines, and artist support.

My professional interests include art-directable workflows, world building pipelines, dynamic materials, practical deformers, stylized shaders, mass automation, procedural environment generation, and simulations. I also do a fair bit of gameplay programming. Feel free to check out my profolio.

In my free time, you can usually find me writing or climbing the competitive ladder in Overwatch. I occasionally visit schools to run career workshops for students interested in the video game industry. I regularly update my blog with a bunch of random stuff.
